Everything you need to know about your project.

We believe in clear communication from start to finish. Here's what you can expect from us — and what helps us do our best work for you.

A little prep goes a long way.

We work hard to make installation day go smoothly for you. To help us do that, here are a few things we ask customers to take care of before our crew arrives.

#1
Locate your property lines.

Please have your property boundaries clearly identified before installation begins. If you're unsure where they are, we recommend checking your survey or contacting the City of Ottawa. We build where you tell us — so accuracy here is important.

#2
Connect with your neighbours.

If your fence runs along a shared property line, a quick conversation with your neighbour ahead of time helps avoid surprises and keeps things friendly.

#3
Check for underground utilities.

Ontario law requires utility locates before any digging. As the property owner, you must contact Ontario One Call at least 10 days before your project start date to request public locates. You are also responsible for identifying and marking any private lines on your property (such as gas, electrical, or septic). This helps keep your project on schedule and everyone safe.

#4
Clear the work area.

Please remove any items along the fence line — patio furniture, garden décor, planters, or anything stored near the area where we'll be working. This helps our crew move efficiently and protects your belongings.

#5
Secure your pets.

Please keep pets indoors or safely away from the work area during installation. Gates may be open throughout the day and our crew will be moving materials in and out.

#6
Ensure access to the property.

If any portion of the fence line runs through a backyard or side access, please make sure gates or pathways are unlocked and accessible for our team and equipment.

MAINTENANCE

Keep Your Fence Looking Great, Season After Season.

A well-installed fence is built to last — but a little seasonal care goes a long way, especially with Ottawa's winters. Here are some simple tips to protect your investment.

If you're ever unsure about the condition of your fence or notice something that doesn't look right, don't hesitate to give us a call. We're happy to take a look.

Wood Fences

  • Inspect annually for signs of rot, loose boards, or cracked posts

  • Clean with a mild soap and water solution each spring

  • Apply a water-repellent stain or sealant every 2–3 years to protect against moisture and UV

  • Clear snow and ice buildup from leaning against panels during winter months

Vinyl Fences

  • Rinse with a garden hose seasonally to remove dirt and debris

  • Use a soft cloth or brush with mild detergent for stubborn marks — avoid abrasive cleaners

  • Check caps and trim after harsh weather to ensure they're secure

Chainlink/Metal Fences

  • Inspect annually for scratches that may expose bare metal to moisture

  • Touch up with a rust-inhibiting paint if you spot chips or scrapes

  • Rinse periodically to remove road salt residue near driveways or streets

Gates (All Materials)

  • Lubricate hinges and latches at least once per year

  • Check alignment seasonally — frost heave can shift posts slightly over winter

  • Tighten any loose hardware before it becomes a bigger issue
